Which one would you pick

I'm admittedly a HUGE Browning A-Bolt fan, but with good reason. I like the design so much, if somebody asked me to design the perfect sporting bolt action, it would be VERY close to the A-Bolt. I love the tang safety that lies naturally under your thumb when holding the rifle (you don't have to take your hand plumb off the stock to manipulate the safety on the side), the bolt (3 lug) has 60 degree bolt lift, a sleeve that makes it glide smoothly, has a big AR style extractor, factory glass bedded & free floated barrel, barrel itself is excellent producing excellent accuracy with the right load/s, stock design is made just about perfectly specced out to fit, the mag is detachable, but concealed under the floor plate so it cannot get lost, and even the mag design features a X spring that pushes both ends up evenly (preventing bullet dipping) instead of a W spring like most of the others. Want me to keep going? I could have any action I want and choose the A-Bolt action to build my custom rifles from (my own personal & select friends).

I have a Browning A-bolt Hunter in a .243 and it is 1 of my favorite Rifles. It is well made and very accurate.I've taken many Deer with it and it is my best and most Reliable/Accurate Rifle I have.I have a 3x9x40mm Leupold matte black Rifleman scope on it using Millet Rings and bases and using 100 grain Hornady Custom bullets.
I also own a Browning A-bolt Medallion .270 WSM that shots very good but is one of those too Pretty Rifles to take out in bad weather plus it has the high-gloss shiny finish on it and for Hunting I prefere the duller more practical finish on the standard A-bolt Hunter Rifle.
For thier price they are we'll worth the money....only thing I would do differently is to price the Browning X-bolt if I wanted to step up to a better Rifle.

The last time I checked, and bought 2, bud's gun shop in Lexington Ky had the A-Bolt composite stalkers for 503$. Yeah the Howas are dang good rifles, but for the price they can't hold a candle to the A-Bolt in MY personal opinion.

I had a 7mm RUM and a 22-243 built on A-Bolt actions, I just can't get used to the 60' bolt lift.

Like I said I know the quality of the Browning. I have 2 A bolts. I was more or less wanted to see if there was a comparison to the Howa.
But even as nice as the Browning A-bolt is the bolt cycle no where near compares to the slickness of my Tikka. The Tikka bolt is slicker than snot on a door knob.
From what I've seen on the reviews the Howa seems to be a combination of the best of both Remington and Winchester and now has a Hogue stock.

The bolt (action) on my Tikka & my Sako are by far the "slickest" of any bolt gun I own including; Browning, Marlin, Savage & Remington.
...............but my Browning is by far the best in terms of fit & finish !!!
