The reviews on the 783 I've read are all good. They say it is an accurate reliable rifle. I like the receiver design with the cut out ejection port. Reminds me of the old 788. Another economy rifle that was very accurate. NO it's not a 700. But it was never meant to be. It is a rifle for those who want a weapon to fill the freezer or do some plinking. That role it will fill nicely. But son of a gun - they don't make it in a lefty.
