I have the public defender model I picked up cheap at a pawn shop. Shoots the Winchester 2 1/2" home defense rounds well to about 10 yards. I have some hand loads for the 45lc. I can keep them on target to 20 yrds no problem. I usually just have mine in the truck. Good gun for close range.

+1

I believe "this" to be true - for most people anyway !

I have two Judges, one for home defense and the other as a snake gun during bow season. I load #4 shot 410's and two .45d colt rounds. I put them in a shoulder mounted rig.

Very light and comfortable. The recoil isn't that bad with the light weight model.
