Yes the mossberg is a 695. I have one but it's a turkey model with screw in Turkey choke. I think the new ithaca deerslayer lll would be nice but it's retail is $1189 a little pricy.

I own a 870 with a slug barrel and a 220. I'd take the Savage over the Remington 100 times out of 100.

I have a mossberg 695, shoots excellent. It's equivalent would be the Savage 212 or 220's.

Here's my 695, and a box off shells I ran through it last year. first 3 grouped a little low.... Adjusted her up a little and shot the last two. At 100 yards. Couldn't expect better from a slug gun.

***Great shooting gun with the correct ammo you obviously found that it liked. Who says a shotgun can't group like a rifle! With the right equipment and ammo those targets prove it!

Like I said, couldn't expect better from a slug gun. I moved out of a slug only state to a rifle state- but won't be selling the 695. If I ever do need a slug gun, I know I have one that'll shoot.
