I too won't use Rem brass anymore or any of their crappy lead...I do use Rem primers... 7 1/2 for one of my 223's and 9 1/2 for two different .243 loads...but that's the extent of my use of Rem components....

Remington gets my last place vote for reloading brass as well.

Not a Remy fan even though I own 2 700s. As for components, I use Rem primers in about a half dozen loads and Rem brass in 3 chamberings. Haven't had any problems but then I'm usually looking for the most accurate load, not the fastest. Think I'll look to other components for future load development.

Come on guys you're all missing the point here. It's not the quality of the components we are talking about - it's the availability. Where is it all going?

I agree bronko that something doesn't make sense. And its not just remington. Stock should be starting to flow back into stores more than it is, imo. I've been looking for some .50 cal speer handgun bullets for my .54 ML, out of stock for the past 2 mos. No way people are buying up every .50 cal handgun bullet.

FWIW, I like remington. All the guns I have are excellent, and the components I've used have always been good.

I shouldn't be shocked at seeing this question asked, but I still have to scratch my head. You have a high post count, but are you relatively new to reloading? Everyone who's been in this for a while remembers what happened when we put the (censored for site) into office in 2008. A year later, primers were still hard as heck to find. When his majesty was re-elected by people who actually believed he wouldn't go after our guns, there was a small rush on guns and ammo, but it didn't last very long. Then came Sandy Hook. Just like in '08, the gun rush hit first, then the ammo was bought up almost at the same time. Then suddenly, everyone wanted to reload, just like in 2008. The gun makers, and ammo makers, have their production model based on typical product movement. When a sudden boom in demand happens, they get swamped. Right now, all brass and primers are going to ammo production. Whenever we stop hoarding, it'll become available. Despite popular belief, Remington ammunition is not intentionally holding back on you. All makers are way behind, just look at the link Ridge Runner posted. The only thing Sportsmans Warehouse has right now in town, is oddball ammo. If you want WSM ammo or brass, your sitting in tall cotton.

In essence, you, and every other AR owning american is trying to find 223/5.56 brass and other components. Try finding powder right now for that burn range. 1lb canisters are popping $90 on gunbroker. I stocked up before the hysteria hit, and supplemented my inventory when it came, jsut before the shelves went dry. I hate to say it, but you're going to have to ride it out till you find once fired brass, or pay gouged prices at gun shows.
