Beings that I own both the Ruger 10/22 and Marlin 795, I will say that, for me, the 795 is a lot more accurate right out of the box.

I honestly don't see myself picking up the 10/22 much any more, now that I have the choice.

^This, if you have the money. CZ 452 or 455 if you want a little cheaper bolt action but very nice and accurate gun. Savage if you want an even cheaper accurate bolt action gun but not quite so nice in the fit and finish category. Want an accurate semi auto out of the box, go with a Marlin. If you want a popular gun to customize a 10/22 won't be as accurate out of the box but with some tweaking and modifications it can be... it all boils down to how much you want to spend and what type of gun you want.

Find yourself a Remington Model 511 from the 1960's. Much better than most guns made today and a lot cheaper.

savage bolt action. inexpensive and will shoot great out of the box

i use a savage mk 2 f bolt action and it is a good rifle and very accurate but i would stay away from the mossberg plinkster
