Default Benelli M4 with 14" barrel ???

I had a similar post about this gun in a related forum that diddnt seem to generate much feedback. Ive been trying to get my hands on one of these fora while now. But there doesnt seem to be that many around. Well the other day i just so happened to find one. Now, my only hurdle is the fact that itsa short barreled shotgun. Which i beleive to be Illegal here in the marvolous state of New York . So, how do i become certified to own a weapon like this? Or, what if i bought the M4 standard...then its registered as a normal weapon, but then had the barrel cut down to 14"..would i then have to re-register it as a class 3? All the help and info you guys (an gals) can provide is most certianly appreciated. Thanks, ADAM

strangly enough its legal to own a 14 inch barreled shotgun in canada but its not legal to go out hunting with a remington r15 or similar hunting based AR. we can even own (and hunt with) this 8.5'' barreled chinease rem 870 knock off http://canadaammo.com/product.php?pr...3&cat=0&page=1

Best re-check that! Such a firearm is under the same general provision as a full-auto - it's Class III. Any sale of one must go through a Class III dealer and incurs a $200 tax stamp. Best bet...find a Class III dealer in your area to utilize and he'll explain the paperwork involved.
