.260 rem. 700 mountain rifle
I am thinking about buying a mountain rifle in .260. Anyone have any problems with the light barrels as far as accuracy?

RE: .260 rem. 700 mountain rifle
I bought one the first year they came out.It was a great shooter. The reason I don't have it now is that I sold it to buy the BDL when they came out.Money couldn't buy my BDL.

I think I'd get a 7mm-08 instead, something to consider.

I have the first out Remington .260 Mtn. rifle LLS. Excellent rifle I bought for my son when we needed a lighter big game rifle. It is now my first choice when I head out particularly deer and antelope. Mine is scoped with a Burris Signature 3x9 ....Its nota rifle you go shoot groups with all day but once it was sighted in I have alot of confidence in it. We have made some very long shots with that rifle.

Another vote for the excellent, more versatile 7mm08!

The 260 is a great and many times underestimated round for anything from Coyotes to Mule deer and is growing in popularity fast. The 6.5 mm bullets have some great ballistic coefficents and are still light ehough not to knock you shoulder off at the range. ITs gaining a lot of popularity with longrange hunters and is very effective to 600-700 yards.
