Default Browning Stalker

Just bought a Browning stalker, trigger is susposed to be adjustable, tried adjusting but doesn' t adjust but less than 1/4 lb is this consistant with them or is this one not working. Will go from 4.5 to 4 lb. with a couple turns of the adjustment screw. This is the first Browning I have owned.Would like to get some info before I fire it so I can send it back if something is wrong with it???

Default RE: Browning Stalker

Took my new Browning stalker (270 WSM) to the range this morning, wanted to lower the trigger pull before going but didn' t find out how till I got back home. Now have it set at 2 1/2 lbs think it will do much better next time I go.Here is what I got ,out of the box,4 lb trigger, scope mounted (Buris,3x9x40.w/B-plex)
May help someone thinking of getting one, love mine so far.
100 yds:
130 gr SST/H4831-65grs/wlrm primmers/ .757 ' ' all were 3-shot groups
130gr SST/H4831-66grs/wlrm pri./1.403"
130 gr SST/H4831-66.5 grs/wlmr pri./1.380"
150 gr BT/H4831-60 gr/wlrm pri./.725"
150 gr BT/R-19-58.5/wlrm pri/1.260"
150 gr factory,Win.power point/.574"
Only had time to try one load at 200 and it was 130 SST/66.5 grs H4831 with .766" group.
using the second dot on th B-plex group was about dead center and 1 1/2 inches to the right of dot center.
Brought it home gave it a good cleaning and 200 strokes of JB' s,took trigger down to 2 1/2 lb and waiting to go range again maybe next week.
The factory load shot the tightest group so far but I think I can work on the col to get better groups w/handloads,had them set pretty deep.
