Thanks.....
Need non-slip sling.
I have other "padded" types like this for comfort but always seem to slip (plus padding acts like a spong in the rain).

I have one of these in the shotgun model which would be my best choice if not the first one I hear so much about.

The only slings I use on my guns are the Outdoor Connection (The Super Sling 2+) Made in the USA one hand rapid adjustment and they have the built in thumb loop. These are hands down my beleive of the best sling system out there. They work great for me.

I have went to the Claw contour slings and so far I like them. They stay put on your shoulder pretty well. I haven't tried all that many different slings in my life so I can't say they are or aren't the best just that I like them so far. I have a Butler Creek Alaskan Magnum Rifle Sling on my turkey gun and I am not that satisfied with it.

The best nonslip sling I have ever used is they type made of 'live rubber' I have 4 of them. They do not move off your shoulder. And, you can easily carry your rifle 'back pack' style if you want.

For years the Remington 700BDL came with a simple leather slide sling. It was one inch wide, and very durable. It can be adjusted in one second. It is very light, and folds up to go in your front pocket with room to spare when you do not need it. I have several of these, but they are getting old. I would not mind finding a couple more. Tom.,

Although perhaps not your grandfather's type of rifle sling. My favortie by FAR is those safari slings:

can carry the rifle totally hands free. Backpack never gets in the way. And can get the gun up much quicker in case you jump the big boy. Really good when it comes to hiking in rough country.

I have had several slings through the years including the wide padded slings and a couple of "GI" leather hook and loop adjustables the best one so far is a hand fitted DIY 5/50 cord ranger sling . It fits my bolt rifle 2 shotguns and the Marlin carbine and fits me well enough to get the 3 point sling lock rest on the bolt an carbine .
I believe I saw it in F&S about 15 yrs ago .
