Default Browning or Winchester rifle

I,m looking at the Browning BAR short track and the Winchester SXR .
Either the 270 wsm or the 300 wsm .
I herd Browning bought out Winchester so quality should not be an issiue .
They run abought $200. apart .
In your opinion is the Browning woth the extra ??
I,d like to be able to get factory ammo off the shelf and have it be accurate .
I do some reloading now . But in a pinch factory would do ..
Any thoughts or comments welcome..

I own 2 older BAR's (a Japanese and a Belgium made) and both are well made and accurate. Both shoot just fine with factory ammo at long distances (up to 400 yards). I've never shot an SXR so couldn't say anything about them.

Browning and Winchester are owned by the same holding company.

Is much better then this

See if you can eitherfind a NIB BAR somewhere or a gently used one, You will be much happier and you'll end up with a very accurate reliable semi-auto rifle. If weight is an issue look for a BAR lightweight stalker. No benefit to using a WSM over anything else in a BAR , its one action length .

The Browning short/long tracks are essentially the same rifle that the SXR is. The Browning versionshave a few features that the Winchester version doesn't.

I'd either go with the Browning BAR (original design)and also take a look ata Benelli R1.
