RE: Ed Brown Rifles?
ORIGINAL: salukipv1 thanks for the link, Jeep, checked it out, looks awesome, I think if that barrel were 22-24" I'd be very interested. I'm really liking that Kimber... |
RE: Ed Brown Rifles?
Neither the Ed Brown, Remington 700, or Browning are CRF. Remington is importing a mauser clone that is but I'm pretty sure it's not Stainless. The Kimber Talkeetna sounds perfect. That is if your willing to spend Ed Brown type money. |
RE: Ed Brown Rifles?
Jeep,
In my mind I had 24" as the ideal length, so 22" would work as well, but now at 21" is 3" in my book. I hear you on the velocity though, what do you think 21.5 vs 24" difference would be? 50-75fps? Anything against that Kimber? |

Not sure about the Kimber, it seems like most of them are either great or terrible. Might also check out CZ. |
RE: Ed Brown Rifles?
Kimber?? Terrible?? I do not think so.
I own and have owned over a dozen Kimber's. I have not been disappointed in one yet. I have shot dozens more with zero problems. IMO when some one shells out big dollars for a firearm they expect it to perform magic. A lot of shooter's who buy a more expensive rifle have high expectations, but do not have high capabilites. And if you do not have the ability to take advantage of a quality firearm, then a lot of people will blame the firearem(for their inadequacies). The Ed Brown rifle is a high quaity piece. I have handled a few of his works, and have shot one(never owned one). They would be a great firearm to own, but just a little too pricey for me. you are paying a little extra for the name. Tom. |

RE: Ed Brown Rifles?
I have never heard a person who actually owned a Kimber complain about thier performance.

RE: Ed Brown Rifles?
My response was directed to the Yonkers guns. I don't know anyone with the Oregon versions.

RE: Ed Brown Rifles?
My "Yonkers" gun a 84m in 7mm-08 went back for stock work, the stock warped and was hitting the barrel. I sent it back and got back a new stock, new triggerguard/floorplate assembly . Their customer service is fast and very good but I can see a lot of faults on the ones sitting on my dealers shelve.
