I'm the guy who started......"Three rifle for ALL North American game"
At the time, I saidONE had to be a .243, because I had already brought a Remington 700 SPS DM.
Now, Ijust brought a.204 Savage 16 FCSS DM.
So, now I need the last one.
ALL of you have been great helping me sort things out along the way and I appreciate ALL of your opinions!!!!
The last one is for the BIG stuff; remember I am gonna need to lug it around at higher evelations (and I'm not getting any younger).

Well if you have a 204 the varmits are handled.
And with a 243 the deer and antilope are dead meat.
So the last gun needs to be able to handle the biggest from elk, to moose and grizzlies. I would go 300 mag. or better yet. 338 mag.

If grizz is in the picture, then I'm going to have to agree with the others and say something along the lines of 358 STA, 338 Win Mag, 340 Weatherby, 8mm Rem Mag, 300 Win mag, 300 Rem Ultramag, etc. There's a whole list or cartridges that will fit the bill.

If your are talking inland grizzly then the 300 Mag or 338 Mag preferred. Coastal bears may require more medicine. 339 Mag min preferring one ofthe 375s. And with the 375 you would be good for anything.

The 358 STA is just an 8mm Rem mag necked up to .358.
Of course if you are going to go through the trouble of chamberinga 35 caliber wildcat then you may as well chamber the .358 ultra mag.
If you want a factory load then my choice would be a 338 RUM.
