Bringing a post back from the dead, I went to a charlotte Gunshop and handled the 550, and I have decided that I am going to get the CZ 550 in 6.5x55. Just now shoping around for the best price, I already have a quote for $599, but I think I can get it for less...

how popular/available is 6.5x55 ammo here in the US? Not sure I ever see it/notice it on the shelf....

I normally buy ammo online anyways, but in my experince it one of those rounds that you can't find at wally world but you can find at a lot of hunting/sporting good stores.
