Thank you to ALL of you, as I am the one who posed the original question.
Fariswm has done a great job compiling all the responses; so a special thank you to him.
You have ALL been instrumental in helping me make MY best decision.
Here is what I ended up with;
204 Savage 16 FCSS
243 Remington 700 SPS DM
7MM Mag. Sako A7 Stainless
Note: If I ever get to Alaska, believe me; I will be carrying a 338 Win. Mag.
I appreciate each and every response, and I believe they all have merit.

I am a little late on this reply buta properly loaded35rem works great for stalking the thick stuff from say 15-150 yards it is ausome. Mine is a 336D spitting 200gr Rem CoreLokt rn's at 2188fps. Thats my favorite load for deer and is at or above the old say pre 1970 factory stuff that killed bear and moose quite regularly. The Buffalo Bore 220gr Speer's loaded to 2200fps are great for bear/elk/moose, but to slow to expand for deer. The rem is loaded down for all the old time auto's like the #8 and old pump guns like the #14. The case is as strong as the 30-30 and the 336 stronger yet. These loads stay 10% lower than the 30-30 pressures. Marlin Owner. com is where it at for 35rem loading data.
