I got one for my little bro last year. He recently gave it back to me since he dosnt hunt anymore. We have never had a problem with it. I also have a Marlin 882 and 917 and have not had problems with either of them. Id say go get it and dont look back.

I have no idea who you have been talking to. Every Marlin I've ever shot has been really good. I have several myself.

I'm a Marlin man all the way but I own a Savage Mark 2 with a bull barrel and it's realy accurate. Marlin makes a good rifle too. I guess it is personal preference as to which one you buy. I don't think anyone makes a bad rifle these days.

Marlin sells more .22's than anybody else in the world if they were junk I doubt they would be able to sell so many. People like the 10/22 because you can modify it. Personally I just shoot my guns the way they came from the factory. If you have to do a lot of modification to a gun to make it shoot like you want it to then it must not of been very good. I'm not saying anything bad about the 10/22's they are great guns. Though I prefer my Marlin's over the 10/22's. I also shoot a Ruger Mark II target pistol that I would put up against any other model made.
