do these actually improve accuracy or is it another gimmick?

I was sure they were a gimmick, but darned if they didn't shrink the groups on my Kimber Montana quite a bit. That rifle has a pretty skinny barrel, however. Who knows how well it might work on a regular barrel.

Do what I did: Add it to the next Cabela's order. If it doesn't work, send it back.

i have a bull barreled .25-06 i was thinking of trying one of these on. my groups are already .75" at 100 yards. i was wondering if it would tighten up my groups even more.

CamoCop - I don't know if they will fit over a bull barrel. I tried one on one of my rifles just for fun and took it back. I read the instructions and positioned it as recommended, moved it forward and back to find the 'optimium' point but I didn't see any noticable improvement in accuracy.
And it looked like crap on the rifle. SVL (limbsaver) makes some good products but I don't think this is one of them.
