Stoeger is made by the same company as Franchi and Berretta.. They all have the inertia drive system which elimates the gas system of other shotguns. They are reliable and a very good gun for the money..

I owned one a few years ago. I can describe it in one word, JUNK! Fit and finish are rough. It could not shoot federals (2 3/4 or 3") without jamming, and Remingtons sometimes would not fire in this gun. My advice would be to spend the extra moneyand geta browning, remington orberetta. Or just buy the toughest and most reliableduck gun in the world, the old 870.

I owned one of these until I traded it two weeks ago at the local gun show. I bought mine at D***S. I went there to buy myself a thumbhole mossberg combo for turkey hunting and the salesman talked me into buying that hunk of crap.Excited to get home with my new gun,I went straight out to the field to pattern it. I couldn't get the pattern I was looking for.The next day I took it to the range with a different brand of load, and still the same.......To make a long story short, I shot 9 different loads through 11 different choke tubes and still the same. Took it to a local gunsmith and was told the barrel was bent on my 2 day old shotgun. Called Benelli and I was told to send the whole gun back ans it would be fixed and sent back to me in 6 to 8 weeks. I explained with turkey season only 2 weeks away, there was no way I was waiting that long.Took it back to the gunsmith, and he fixed it($165.00). In closing $450.00 for the gun,$200.00 in loads,$150.00 in choke tubes,$100.00 in targets plus the gunsmith charge,I learned a valuable lesson,NEVER BUY A STOEGER M 2000!!!!!!

I have one and have been very pleased with it. Fit and finish. Hmmmm May be a little rough but for what I put a turkey gun through it has been very dependable. It's definately a tough gun. I've bumped and knocked it around quite a bit and it's done a good job for me.
