Thinking about getting another 1894 Marlin and just wondering
what kind of accuracy andthe type of ammunition you are now
shooting. What kind of accuracy are you getting at 50 yards and
at 100 yards. The one I had years ago shot very good and was
just wondering what your rifle is capable of shooting. Mike

I have a 1894SS 44 magnum and have only shot the Winchester "white box" 240 gr magnums, and I have only shot it at 50 yards. At 50 yards, I can shoot, not necessarily one hole, but overlapping holes consistently.

I cast a 240 grain bullet for mine, at about 1600fps without a GC. I can keep mine under two inches off the bench, and under four inches off my shooting sticks at 100 yards. Tom.

Hey guys thanks so much for your response.Seems like they are
still accurate like I remember. One thing I forgot to ask was what
where the results you had when deer hunting. How far did the deer
travel after being hit and was it a pass thru shot.Have the deer been
knocked down and gotten back up and ran and what kind of trail did
it leave? Also what were you shootig for your deer load? Thanks so much
for answering my questions.Where I hunt is very thick and wooded and
thats why I ask these questions. Mike

I seriously doubt the deer getting back up after being hit by that gun..lol. I use some of those same bullets out of my inline ml and that 300 Hornady is just a terror on whitetails.

You will usually get a pass through even if you hit one shoulder with the 300 Grain XTP. They won't go far if they go at all. Out to 100 yards they are super accurate as well.
