Just wondering what peoples thought are on this gun in the 30-06 size, $900CND
Would be a first gun to last a lifetime of taking down tasty deer
How would this compair to a T3 Hunter, $800CND?

I have both the rifles you are looking at, and I prefer my A-Bolt to my Tikka. If money isn't a problem, but whichever one fits you the best. They're both great guns and will be great shooters.

Brownings have been having problems with brittle firing pins. Hope they have them fixed by now. Tikka is a great shooter. If someone gave me a Browning I would sell it and buy anotherTikka. Alsotake a look at the SAKO Finnlight.

How do you know whether a "gun fits"
Whenever I have been hunting up to this point a friend hand me one of his unused rifles and I shoot with that, take a few pratice shots to get the feel of it and then off we go.
Sounds wrong now that i write it down but all my kills have been one shot one kill.
When a gun fits will I know? i am a bigger guy, 6'4" so would one of these guns that I have thought about be better then the other for a guy my size?

What these guys mean is that the gun should feel comfortable while holding it. There is a Gander Mountain store near by that has all of the rilfes out on open display racks for the customers to handle. Last fall I too was looking at the A-bolt, and Tikka T3 Lite in .30-06. I was just about to get the Browning, when I picked up the Remington 700XCR synthetic. It was so soft and comfortable that I boughtit. I've been really happy with it. I mounted a Sightron "Big Sky" 3-12x 42mm scope on it. Just yesturday I was shooting 1/2" groups @ 100 yards with 150gr. $11.00 per box Federal Powershock off the shelf ammo. That's not to bad for a rookie shooter.
The Rem 700XCR was on sale for $675.00 USD.

The 30-06 is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
The Browning A-Bolt is a pretty good gun as well. Buy it if you like it.
I tend to like Rugers, Sakos, and Remingtonsbetter, but there is nothing wrong with the Browning A-Bolt.
Tikkas are great shooters, but I don't like their plasitc magazines and bolts shrouds. Their customer service is reported to be less than satisfactory by some as well.
