RE: SIMMS BARREL DERESONATOR
I was sure they were a gimmick, but Cabela's has a great refund policy, so I gave them a whirl on my Kimber Montana .308. With its whippy barrel, I was lucky to get 3" at 200 yds. With the Sims atached, groups dropped to 2". It's a keeper in my book!

Looks like a toilet plunger.
Sorry, if I had to have one to make my rifle shoot better, I think I would rather buy a new rifle than walk around with that thing hanging off it.

RE: SIMMS BARREL DERESONATOR
I was asked to try one of these when they first came out and did but I think because all my rifles at the time were shooters and it didn't help any.I took it back the next day but wished I had kept it untill I shot a rifle that wouldn't shoot to try it.But after talking to the fellow at sims I think it would help if you had a rifle that wouldn't shoot.I just didn't spend enough time on it.
AS BTM said the critters aren't going to care what the rifle looks like and $20 bucks is cheaper than buying a new rifle.

BTM - If I shelled out the money for a Kimber Montana and it only shot 3" groups, I'd be on the phone to Kimber. I don't mean to slam you but you may have a bedding problem or something else. Like you I bought one just for fun to see if it worked. It didn't. At least not the way it was advertised. I just experimented with different loads until I found something my rifle liked. If you don't reload, it may be worth a try. But they just don't look right. And if I didn't reload and had a rifle that didn't shoot up to my self imposed standards I may consider putting a "BOSS" type system on it.

RE: SIMMS BARREL DERESONATOR
I saw a reveiw on the product on a website about a year ago. They did controlled tests with several rifles and several calibers. Results tended to either be no change. Some guns showed worse accuracy and a very few showed improvements.
Still think it looks like something that should be stuck in my toilet, not something for one of my rifles.
