With stock Ruger 10-round drum magazines, I get a lot of jams (mainly stovepipes), but I have almost no problems with an aftermarket 25 rounder (Butler Creek, I believe).
Anyone know what might be the problem? At $20 apiece, this is getting expensive! (I sent one back to Ruger a few weeks ago, but so far no word from them.)

My problems with misfeeds with the 10/22 were the result of using certain ammunition. While some loads work flawlessly, some caused feeding problems.

This is almost unheard of for the ruger factory mags to be less reliable than aftermarket mags. I assume that you are talking about fairly new mags. I have taken many of them apart and cleaned and wound up the spring for more tension. You might try that.

Check out rimfirecentral.com for your rimfire needs. I think there is a diagram and an explanation on how to clean the 10/22 magazines.
Since I started shooting CCI MiniMags in my 10/22 I have not had any problems.
