Hey guys just picked up a new Marlin .17 yesterday. It's has a Stainless Bull barrel and the fancy stock. Just wondered if any of you guys have shot or own this particular gun and how it shoots. I was really in a toss up between this one and the savage but couldn't pass up the deal i got. So what are your thoughts?

I have a Marlin in 17 HMR but mine is blued and walnut. With the TNT hollowpoints it will shoot under an inch at 100 yards on acalm day, and at 50 yards i can keep five shots touching if not in the same hole. The guns are extremly accurate and i dont think youll be dissappited by your purchase

I just got th same gun, but I haven"t done much for sighting it in, I want to put a different scope on i( it has a black 4x12-32, and I am putting a 3x9-40 stainless scope on it.) Ihave shot it quite a bit though, it is pretty impressive. Shot a couple rabbits and squirrels, alot more damage than a .22 thats for sure. Taking it out prarie doggin in june, pretty pumped. You will like it, only thing I don't like is there is only a 7 round clip available for it, I will be reloading alot when shootin at those p.dogs.

Sounds like a cool gun, how much do Marlins cost anyway? They haven't any prices in the catalog or the website.
Around $400?

The one I bought is priced around $325 in stores, no scope, just rifle. I bought mine from a guy that won it, so I got a real good deal, gun, scope (even though it isn't staying on it), gun case, and 300 rounds of ammo for $300, I think I did fare on this. Savage is a little higher priced, like $250, but they are pretty much the same gun.
