Looking into a new gun for next year , 30.06 caliber ,stainless with synthetic stock. Would like to hear some good brand names and some suggestions. I have a Winnchester now but kind of want something different. Thanks !

I guess you could say I'm partial to Ruger stainless . I have three of them.

MossyOakman

Sako-very good quality,A friend of mine has a sako synthetic stainless in 30-06 & he is very impressed. www.sako.fi

Tikka-very good & accurate straight out of the box, made in the same factory as sako at a very good price to. www.tikka.fi

I would look at these to before making any decissions.

My next rifle will be a tikka.

Good luck

I really like Rugers myself, I have 4 and counting. And if you get one before 12/31/02 you can get $40 back from Ruger, and they come with 1" scope rings standard, which attach to mounting groves milled right it the action.

Don't forget it, Forgive.

Grovere are you sure on the date ,they just had them with the rebate here until the end of November. They even had another $ 40.00 off instore sale . $ 80.00 off and they didn't have a caliber left that I didn't already have and no time to order when I found out about it . Well there is always next time . I like you choice in guns .

i just bought a Ruger 30-06 stainless with a laminate stock. took it moose hunting, no luck there. did shoot a doe during gun season. so far i love the gun. i plan on buying more. unsure about the laminate stock. i would appreciate some input on them compared to synthetic or wood.

i have the wetherby 30-06 from wal-mart and it is very accurate and i am very pleased with it. i also have owned a rem 700 which was just as accurate .either one is a great gun for the money.

I personally would suggest the Browning A-Bolt. It is a great rifle, and I love the trigger on mine.
