T/C Encore Rifle
I would like to know your experiences with the T/C Encore rifle. Also any experiences with after market barrels for this gun Thanks Ray

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
I have an encore, but it is in a pistol, with a 15" .308 barrel. It is awsome. I would strongly suggest this gun. You can turn it into anything you want for about $200 for a new barrel. Mike Belm makes alot of aftermarket parts for thompson. Check out www.accuratereloading.com . They have a good forum for single shot pistols and rifles. That guy also advertises there. Hope this helps

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
I dont own one, but my next door neighbor and hunting buddy just bought one in a .270 and it shoots great. I watched him take a night doe at close to 300 yards the other day. I think having a single shot really does make you a better shot. He really had to wait for the right shot and take careful aim. I wouldnt mind having one myself now.

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
I've been waiting for some one to bring up the subject on the T/C encore rifle. I have my eye on the 7mm rem. mag. I like the option on changing barrels and synthetic camo forend and stock. I'll be keeping an eye on this topic.

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
I have a heavy barrel 22-250 on mine. It shoots a tighter group than my remington or ruger heavy varmits. Very impressed with it.

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
Well I got my new 7mm T/C Encore with a new Leupold scope. Boy what a beaut. Can't wait till hunting season.

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
I GOT ONE 300 WIN MAG 24" BARREL AND BRAKED IT IS GREAT !!! THE 300 IS NOT FOR THE MEAK BUT A 300 WSM WOULD BE AWESOME AND 24" BARREL.
THERE ARE SO MANY OPTIONS MORE THEN THE T/C CUSTOM SHOP SHOWS YOU... DO A LITTLE SEARCHING AND THE OPTIONS OPEN EVEN WIDER. AT LEAST NOW YOU CAN OWN A DIFFERENT GUN FOR UNDER $225 IF YOU DONT MIND THE ONE SHOT IDEA...BUY ONE OR THE T/C G2 YOU DONT HAVE AS WIDE OF SELECTION BUT THE GUN IS SMALLER AND LIGHTER. THANKS |
RE: T/C Encore Rifle
Let me tell you, if it came down to my wife or my Encore, I guess I'd have to buy another barrel to replace my wife. I have the encore in .308 and 454 Casull 15" barrels and the 209x50 rifle barrel. I couldn't ask for a better gun. I shoot about 1 1/4" groups with the .308 and 2x scope using 150gr partitions. With the 454 I shoot about 3 - 4" 100 yd groups with iron sights and a 240 gr. hornady xtp mag bullet. This I blame on my eyes, not the gun. With the 209x50, I shoot 300 gr. hornady xtp mag with 150 gr. pyrodex pellets and scope and get about 1" groups. I've killed deer with all but the 454 and performance was flawless. I can't wait to see how the 454 performs. I'll be getting the 22-250 next.

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
anyone know anything about the T\C encore shotgun.I tried to get a price on the turkey setup model # 3816 but they have not gotten the price yet ?
|
RE: T/C Encore Rifle
Loonar, the model 3816 look like a nice gun. I like the camo. Sorry I can't help you. I just got a new rifle and haven't even shot it yet but it sure handles nice. Keep trying.

RE: T/C Encore Rifle
I, like another posted, have an Encore pistol in .308. It's a dream come true. I handload around 10% below maximum load data for rifles. The recoil is comparable to a .357 Mag, maybe less.
The receiver action is the same whether it's a rifle or pistol. The trigger is crisp and light, mines right at 2 lbs. with no creep and once adjusted; no overtravel. I am ordering the rifle stock components and a .308 rifle barrel so I have the capability to hunt with either as I choose. Shoot often - Hunt always |
RE: T/C Encore Rifle
I have not gotten after market barrels but I have the 209x50cal in stainless and like it very much it shoots like a dream and at 100 yds it will hold a 1 1/2" pattern I am shooting pyrdox 50 gr pellets x2 and a 175 gr rem. sabot. the main thing is Practice. :D

It is illegal to transform your rifle into a pistol without prior BATF approval. Maybe not a good idea to let everyone know what you are doing. I personally have no problem with it, but it was brought to my attention when I was speaking of doing the same thing. Then I went home to read the warning label on the original box and it states that you may only use barrels with a length of 16" or greater on my reciever. My original purchace was the 209x50ML. Just thought I' d mention it. |
