Default Ruger 22/45 MK lll

Does anyone have this oistol or the Hunter model? If so how do you like it? My wife wants a .22 Pistol for Xmas. I am going out Friday and see what I can find.

My wife is different, she does not own a piece of jewlery nor does she ever want to. She doesn't own a dress and borrowed one for each of our kids weddings. Her idea of a shopping spree is buying a couple new pairs of jeans every year. Thus I want to get her the .22. She wanted a 10/22 for her birthday last summer so I got her that. You gotta love a girl that would rather have a gun than a diamond.

James, you got a keeper, of a wife.Anyway, I owned a 22/45, it had a bull barrel, and it was easily, the most accurate .22 pistol, I have ever owned, they are a blast to shoot, and that would make an excellent Christmas gift.

I have the MK III Hunter and really enjoy the looks and feel. A bull barrel would probably be more accurate.

I have two Mark II's competition models and one Mark III 22/45 with bull barrel. The only complaint I have about the Mark III is the rear sights are non adjustable. I'm having mine removed and installing aadjustable sight like what is installed on my competition models. As far as accuracy is concerned any of them are extremely accurate and I've never had a problem with any of them. We shoot up to 1,500 rounds a weekend through mine with no troubles at all. I've found out if you use the cheap bulk ammo you'll occasionally have a misfire due to a bad shell but it is no problem to eject it and keep shooting. Mine seems to prefer the Winchester or Federal brands. The only one I've found it won't shoot very well is the CCI Stingers. The case seems to want to hang after it is fired.
