RE: which 30-06
The Ruger M77 MKII, excelent quality rifle for the same price as that Remington SPS with a little lower quality. But if you're set on either Remington or Savage I would have to give the nod to Ruger then Remington = - )

RE: which 30-06
Have you looked at the Remington XCR I really like mine in 300WSM

RE: which 30-06
SPS

RE: which 30-06
Put both the rem and the savage in your hands and see which fits you the best. go with that gun. they will both serve you well.

RE: which 30-06
This spring I was trying choose between the SPS Stainless, Stainless Weatherby Vanguard, Ruger All weather, and Savage Weather Warrior. I ended up with the Stainless SPS in .300wsm topped with a Zeiss 4.5X14 X44mm. Its a great rifle.
I shot three deer with it this fall. Too much gun for deer, but a great rifle none the less. Obviously my recommendation is the SPS |
RE: which 30-06
The SPS is one of the best values in a hunting rifle out there. If it fits you, that would be my choice.
|
RE: which 30-06
There is NO way I wouls select a savage over a remington 700.
|
RE: which 30-06
SPS for sure between the two, but like mentioned, I would take a good look at the XCR if you don't mind the extra money. I'm assuming you want stainless for the exact reason the XCR was made.

RE: which 30-06
Like mentioned prior handle both and go with the one that fits and feels best to you.
Since you asked our opinion I am with the SPS crowd;) |
RE: which 30-06
ORIGINAL: TxStorm +1 on the Ruger M77 MkII SS, same caliber also. Mine has the pre-2001 stock (recessed) Weaver 3x9-40. Wouldn't happen to know where I might find another one of those stocks do you? Getting kind rough finding one. |
