Bullets for 7 mag

In that case, I also think the 140 Barnes TXS is what your looking for. Most people report good kills without excess meat damage. I have only used them in the 25 caliber but they do a fine job in that rifle. I have used them a little on other calibers but Mostly the 257 Roberts and 250 Savage.

Another pretty good all around bullet for the 7 MAg is the 160 Sierra. They open up on antelope and still have enough penetration for elk. I'm currently shooting the 168 Berger VLD. They shoot and fly great. Killed an elk with it back in October and got a one shot DRT kill on the high shoulder shot. Would like to test this bullet a little more before making any broad declarations; but this is the bullet that I understand the guy in the "Beyond Belief" DVD video shoots.

RE: Bullets for 7 mag
About 3 years ago I shot a good body size buck with Sierra 160 gr. bullets at about 40 feet and the bullet never had an exit wound. Hit him low in the brisket and found the bullet on the opposite side between the ribs and the hide. Couldn’t believe that from a 7 mm Rem. Mag. but the bullet did mushroom perfect and no blood trail...

I personally use a 175 gr. Horn. Interl. with 62.5 gr of RL22, Fed. 215 Primers. and it gets about 2850 over the Corn.
At 500 yards it still kills Oryx with one rouund.
Try at your own disc., But that is what I load and shoot out of my 7mm Rem. Mag.
