Most of these groups were at 100 yards though and time has not yet permitted finding the BEST ammo that this particular gun likes....

David: I have been trying to send you e-mails concerning a 10-22. All my messages keep coming back undeliverable. Is there a problem. I also tried over on the rimfire forum. Tom.

David- Your custom workis impressive! Your laminate choices are eye catching! What are some of your stock options?

I'm looking at an H&R .223 Rem Varmint Laminated- NIB. Will this gun shoot well at 100yds with handloads or in your experience would you suggest smithwork be done to it to make it more than just an "adequate varmint rifle"? Coyotes and chucks under 300 yds are the quarry.

Sir,

I can do an H&R thumbhole stock in any color combination that "Boyd's" offers as I use their laminated stock blanks. For the forends, I offer them in widths of 2", 2 1/2" or 3". The 2 1/2" is the most popular unless the gun will be shot strictly from a bench and then the 3" is chosen...

As far as the factory 223 goes, a good trigger, muzzle recrown and a properly bedded forend will make it the best it can be in factory form. I rechamber more of these guns to the 222 Rem. Mag. Improved than all others combined. This round can be loaded with a set of 223 Ackley Improved dies and can give an additional velocity increase of some 200-300 fps. over the regular 223. It really all just depends on what one wants from their gun....

Beware!
First off this is my gun. I purchased it from Precision Rifleworks. I had Kim his former Partner and David build this gun for me. Kim is a close personal friend. It's things like this that split them up!
I gave Explicit instructions that I was the only one to fire the gun after being built. As time ran out and I needed it for a shoot I did have Kim sight it in for me. No pictures were taken of the groups, nor were there many groups shot. The pictures posted were from the origional 10/22 the Killer Bee, and were shot @ 50 yards. The Killer Bee shoots much better that this as I have shot against it in competition! You can see the target posted at Kims new site www.chasemountaincustom.com under the 10/22 section. As far as quality of the work, it does shoot in the .0's and low .1's 5 shots @ 50 yards.
In God I do Trust! In some othersI DONT!
