RE: tikka accuracy

I dont think that a off named rifle like tikka (I have never heard of a tikka)will shoot a group better than 1 inch with a 30-06 strait out of the box
Based on the posts on this thread, the statement above appears to be totally untrue.

Man those weird off name companies like Remington or Ruger I just don't know about. What a tool. Tikka's not exactly unheard of. Man, my $300 25 yr old 760 in 30-06will shoot 1 in groups at 100 yrds, big deal.

I ditto the sentiment about the quality of the tikkas. I have a T3 lite Syntetic/Blued 30-06 and absolutely love it. My buddy actually visited their factory and walked away convinced that they actually do perform QA on every rifle to confirm it's out of box accuracy comforms with their statement. My understanding though is that the Tikka's claim 3 rounds at 100 yards grouped within an inch while the Sako's claim 5 rounds.

Goto the http://www.berettausa.com/ website.

Go to "ask a question" then page 3 then click on question #45 and the statement below appears.

All Sako and Tikka rifles prior to leaving the factory must fire a 1", 5 shot group, at 100 yards.

Yeah those Tikkas won't shoot. Just look at how crappy the one I bought groups factory ammo.

As for the blow ups. Yeah they had a problem withone specific batch of stainless steel barrels back in 2004. Unfortunate, but they were recalled. There wasnever a problem with any standard barrels and no problems with the stainless barrels they produce now.

Ive got one in 300 winmag , the only problem with accuracy it has is the monkey behind the triger .Besides that it preforms flawlessly , has taken a few whitetails .

I've consistentyl shot 1 MOA or less at 100 and 200 yds with both my .300 WM and .30-06 Tikka T3 out of the box. That's provided you're using a high quality scope properly mounted that won't move on you and quality ammo.

The problem USMC showed was a specific batch of SS they long since recalled and corrected. There has been NO widespread problem with other models or other batches of rifles made by Sako or Tikka. Neither are "being run into the ground". Some people have a complex about their own firearms and try to find a way run down someone else's it seems.

Tikka T3s can stand ontheir own. They'reproving it year afteryear, since they've been introduced. The large retailer I bought mine from in the area sells more Tikka T3s than any other firearm, rifle, shotgun or handgun. That should tell you something.

I have Tikka Whitetail Hunters in calibers .308, .243, 22-250, and .223 that all shoot sub one minute of angle with premium factory loads. They'll also tighten up good bit more with handloads.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put Tikka/Sako down. They had their problems, they have been corrected and are fine. I just do not see what all the rage is about, they are on par with any other rifle in their price range IMO.
