Default .204vs.17remington

For the handloader:
I already have a 22-250 but since rifles are not legal for deer in my state and deer are the biggest things here I've started looking at going down the catridge ladder instead of up. I already have an assortment of rimfires and so I'm looking at the 17rem and the new .204 I'm personally leaning to the 17. You are going to have to buy special equipment to clean either. Most my shots will be within 200yards with the normal being right at 100. (we're talking crows and coyotes). I've already compared ballistics on paper...just want to know if people have any real-life advice or experience pertaining to game-performance or what the performance ceilings are for the handloads.

Thanks

I prefer the .204 over the .17 Rem. Your concern on cleaning products shouldn't be a worry. The .204 in my book does the better job in what I look for in a smaller, high velocity cartridge.

i would go with the .204 cause it shoot as fast if not faster than the .17 rem at around 4200 fps and has more energy. go with the .204 youll like it better.

Ya know... newer is ALWAYS better! Or so it would seem. But not for me.I am a .17 fan. Coyotes and smaller, no problems out to 300 yds.
