I have a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in .280rem with a Swift 3-9-40 scope on it, it has a scratch on the outside of the barrel (NOT THE BORE), several years old but no rust or anything, keep it cleaned and protected in a hard case, walnut stock is perfect, i am in a bit of a hurry, i need the cash for baby, and it's extra gun so it's gotta go, would it be better to sell in classifieds or to go to a gunshop that purchases??

Clasifieds will get you the most, gunshop will buy it now but much less than I'm sure your willing to part with. They will tell you that gun buying season is over and they will have it for a long time. Send me a picture and I'll take a look, see if I can justify buying it, but again it's going to be less than you want to part with it.

I've had good luck selling via classified ads on hunting/shooting forums. Since I live in a major metropolitan area with a lot of hunters/shooters, I've been able to do face-to-face transactions. Quick cash sales, immediate inspection, everybody's happy.
Good luck, and congratulations on the kiddo!
