I saw one of these in .30-06 at Wal Mart for $244 and I'm wondering what the deal on these things are? American Rifleman did a good review of it, but I'm wondering what some real everyday people think. They only come in 2 calibers, .270 Win and .30-06. The price is almost too good to be true.

This months NRA mag, American Rifleman, just reviewed the ATR 100 and gave it stellar reviews. They got a .75" group with one brand of ammo. And you can get it in a cammo finish. Sounds like a deal but get the rifle w/o the scope and buy a better scope yourself.

Cool! I might consider this in the summer. I want to get a 270 and dont wanna blow the bank account on a new one. I heard a bunch of bull about how they are junk on this site and just couldnt believe it. I want one! EJ

I got one to hunt deer with this year (I usually muzzle-load) and I am quite pleased. It shoots Fusion ammo from Federal into a tad over an inch at 100 yards for me off a hasty-rest and with the scope on 4x. It's bolt is smooth, and the trigger is crisp and 3 lbs. I also liked that it came with bases installed. I topped it off with a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10 that I had lying around, mounted with Warne rings.
It ain't pretty, but the deer didn't know that when I shot him.

I am very interested in getting one of these rifles. They are now offered in .308 and .243 also. I really want one in .308. I am allready a fan of Mossberg but as far as their rifles go, I only have experience with their .22 autoloaders. What kind of durability can I expect from this gun should I purchase it?

I have a old Mossberg .243 rifle and it is not the prettiest gun but it shoots really well. I save it for kids and people who have never shot before to use. It is actually a pretty good gun. I don't know how the new ones are made but I would think they would be a pretty good gun for the price especailly.
