im looking at the savage model 111 with scope or maybe a remington model 700 and buying a scope but i would really like some other ideads or what you guys think and if the remington one what kinda scope just remember under 575.00 thanks

Where do you live? I live in colorado and sportsmens wharehouse has a package with a rem 700 ADL, scope mounts and luepold scope for 499. EJ

You can get a tikka , or savage for around $400 and mounts and rings, and a scope for less than $175 , Id look at a simmons attec or bushnell banner , at your price point .

howa or weatherby vanguard, usually around $400. they are the same basic gun both built by howa. accurate too. burris is my favorite scope but will push your $$ limit with the 3-9x40 fullfield 2. i just put a sightron scope on my mauser in 8mm-06 and it seems to be ok.

Hard to beat a savage 110 series for the money. Accurate and durable. They have combos too. You can save even more and get the stevens 200 (which is a Savage 110 w/o the acutrigger for around 300 bucks. That leaves you more money for a better scope. Most of the experienced hunters who are teaching me say that you should spend twice as much on the scope as the rifle. I only wich I could find a $100.00 rifle LOL

Buy the remington and put a Tasco scope on it. Should not run you more than 350-400. Have had mine for 10 years and still going strong.
