UT, I have duck hunted with people who have black eagles and compared it against my 1187 and now golds and auto5's. I think alot of people love the fact it says benelli. Makes them feel ritzy and Euopean.

Nah, just joking, kinda. I like the black eagle. I didn't like the fact they didn't like skeet loads like estates. And kicked a tad harder than my other shotguns. I wouldn't mind having one, they just got to lower thier price some. I don't like the Nova's styling however. Just personal opinion. Also don't like the fact they don't cater to the sluggunners. From what I seen, very limited on cantelever barrels. Might be wrong.

Yah i don't have anything against the Nova's just curious. I kinda thought the same thing about buying the name, not the gun. I'm sure they're alright, just partial to the 870

I have a Nova and an 870. Mine has seen its share of muddy cold nasty days and always works great. Easy to tear down in the field if you dump into the mud or something. Very very fast pump action for those times when you have lots to shoot at!

Only downside I can think of is the weight... I grab my 870 for pheasants. The Nova is just too much to carry for long walks, IMHO.

Just want everyone to know Bass Pro in Baltimore has novas with cantilever and smoothbore on sale for 500 dollars and plain ole novas smoothbore 26" 12ga for 300 dollars.

Fully rifled 870/wood combos and smooth for 370. Good sale.

Kowalski,
I have shot all the 1200's and 870's for many years and must say the nova is just a better gun. And no the work Benelli has nothing to do with my opinion. If you plan to shoot 3 1/2" there is a thump on both ends. Good Luck.

I've owned two of them ,oneI bought (my mistake ) and one was taken in on a trade . Personally just didn't care for the feel of the gun and had a problem with one . Thier customer service was nothing to brag about which further turned me off . They work ,but give me a 870 anyday .
