Microsoft Edge vs Google Chrome on HNI (videos)
#1
Just a curious question to the Mods/Admin...
When visiting various forums on HNI, and someone posts an imbedded video from YouTube in their post, I noticed something:
Google Chrome -- Video displays, proper link, etc... Click on it and it plays within HNI.
Microsoft Edge -- Nothing. No video, no link... Nothing. Just a giant white box where the imbedded YouTube video is supposed to be.
Is this a Microsoft Edge thing or an HNI thing? Hmmmm.....

I'm obviously not Admin and so I'm guessing but don't know for certain. Most websites tend to optimize their website for certain web browsers. Even if a website is optimized for all web browsers, over a period of time and browser security updates, etc., the website is no longer optimized for all of the websites. Since it takes time and money to keep a website optimized for all web browsers, I "think" the websites just take the time to optimize for a single web browser. Since Google is the largest, I think they get chosen by default. Firefox, MS Edge and other browsers slowly lose the ability for many things to work on a website. If you're using a browser like Brave that uses a lot of Google's stuff, your browser will still likely play videos, etc. Admin will have to chime in to get a certified answer but I think that's likely why Edge, etc. don't play videos.
