Editing a post
#1

I had to transpose two letters in a word because of spelling, but the forum software would not allow it because the message was too short. I had to add some jibberish at the bottom of the post in order to submit it. I see this as a flaw that should be corrected if possible.
I realize I am going out on a limb by "questioning the editing policy" of the forum, so please forgive and do not ban me. Thanks.

It serves a purpose and it's going to stay that way. It keeps people from posting +1 or ttt or other things to rack up their post count. It clutters the forums and chews up bandwidth. This was discussed a while back in the Off Season section.

I can understand a minimum character count on a new post, but on an edit?
If you need to add a letter to a word to correct spelling, you have to add more somewhere else to make up for the minimum character count. Can't the software distinguish between an edit and a new post?
I understand and agree with the decision to go to a minimum character count on a new post. If the minimum character count setting can't be changed for edits only, then so be it, I guess.
