Optics forum, anyone?
 

I think the optics forum is good idea. New forum users are unsure of whether to post in the guns forums or the gear forum. It might help clear up some confusion.

I hope your not going to base whether or not we get an optic forum on the result of the feedback you get. I’m not sure, but I don’t think very many members scroll down this far on this page. I know I normally never do, but just happen to do it today.

1. Rifle scopes
2. spotting scopes
3. Bino's
4. Warranty questions
5. Personal experiences/recomendations
6. eye glasses/shooting glasses.
7. Polls
8. Sights
9. night vision.
10. Archery sights?
11. Where to shop/ good deals.
12. the beloved and endless debate over which scopes are best
13. pistol scopes
14. shotgun scopes
15 Muzzle loader scopes

What am I overlooking?

Personally, I'd like to totally re-arrange and redo the forums.

An optics forum isn't out of the question... give me a few more reasons (bribes) to put one up. ;) .....also, under which main heading should it go under?

It could be a sub forum of guns. Or a sub forum of hunting gear. Or, you could have a whole new category called Gear, and forums could be fishing gear, hunting gear, camping gear, and optics.

Just looked around at some forum front pages for optics related threads.

Guns -- 8 threads
Black Powder-- 1 thread
Hunting Gear Review -- 5 threads
Big Game -- 1 thread

Did a search for "scope" in the Guns forum, found tons of threads. Folks obviously don't use the Hunting Gear Review forum for optics posts like the Admin. intends. I think a dedicated Optics forum is appropriate.

The whole new gear section is an idea... but I don't want to lose the old posts.
