Adapted Equipment?
Any of y'all care to share about any adapted equipment (bought or custom built) you use for hunting?
The only "adapted" equipment I use is an all-terrain wheelchair (Terra-Trek) - so far.... I am in the process of designing something to load/carry my wheelchair while I'm on my ATV, though. I'll keep you updated, if you're interested. Also, I know of someone that's hearing-impaired looking for something to help him hear better while hunting. I'm not aware of anything that wouldn't amplify the gunblast at the same time - not a good thing. Anybody know of something that's available? Edited by - Chairman on 03/29/2002 17:41:49 |

Pic of my Terra-Trek wheelchair - made by Everest & Jennings. It's not an easy chair to find. I finally found one - in Canada!

LOL Yeah, you can't see them very well, but those are some HUGE knobby tires on the rear! You should see the mud "fits" my wife has, when I come inside after some serious scouting trips...especially during "damp" weather! I just LOVE that look on her face, when she sees me coming.

RE: Adapted Equipment?
I get that too chair LOL,, do they make a wider drive wheel for that chair ? and was wondering how you get your weapon out ,on your lap,? didnt see a gun or bow rack on it . hmmmmm got my head going ,iam not in a chair but thinking of ways of putting storage on them for other people , i did build a shooting house that a chair could fit in for a buddy he pulled himself up too with a pully system, he did get a few deer out of it .
with cell phones you can get the freedom and still call for some one to help drag your deer. |
RE: Adapted Equipment?
If anyone knows someone with vision problems in one eye and has a hard time useing a scope because of it let me know. A gunsmith I know makes a special scope base that is off-set so the good eye can be used! I have them mounted on my guns because I lost vision in my right eye and they work great...

I usually just carry my weapon on my lap. It's quite a balancing act! ANYTHING that helps carry some equipment would be a blessing... I'm in the process of remodeling an old farmstead chicken coop, to use for a ground blind. I know a guy that's designed & built a treestand that uses a pulley system to get me in the air. I haven't seen it yet, though it sounds promising. |
