Smile Wounded Warriors-hunters and fishers at Ft Meade WTU

Dear Outfitters,

My name is Sandy Bowman and I am the proud mother of Army Specialist Ryan Bowman. I am writing to many different outfitters to see what they would be willing to do for our wounded soldiers. My son is one of many soldiers stationed at the Wounded Warrior Unit/Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) at Fort Meade, Maryland. My son is one of many who are avid outdoorsman (hunting and fishing). These hunting and fishing trips do amazing wonders in their recovery process by lifting spirits. Many of them suffer from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorder, not only traumatic, but mental and emotional injuries.

It’s been known in the past of outfitters to providing WTU’s exclusive hunting and fishing trips for the soldiers and their families. Those outfitters interested in donating your services to the WTU Fort Meade, Maryland please email me and I will give you the contact information for the Family Readiness Support Coordinator.

God Bless,

Sandy Bowman

Mother of WTU Soldier
