Hi John ,
I' ve seen your posting on other site' s BBs . Could you post some more info , or does your site provide all ? I like the thought of helping a kid , disabled or otherwise , discover the joys of the outdoors . I' m located in Southern Indiana , and while I don' t own land I do have access to some nice wooded places to hunt , along with farmland tracts . The Hoosier Natl. Forest is just a stone' s throw from me , and I live close to the beautiful Blue River in Harrison Co. The fish tend to the small side they sure are fiesty ! Let me know if I can help . |

RE: Disabled and terminally ill kids
John, Yes I would be interested in taking a youngster hunting. Sorry it took me so long to get back to ya but I have been stuck working midnights. I can do a spring Gobbler hunt here in PA if that would suit your situation. If ya have someone that has always wanted to hunt in PA but hasn' t been able too even from another state, I would be willing to cover the License fee for them and make arrangements for their stay here. Let me know what ya need from my end.

I too would like to help out any way I could. We live right along the susquahanna river in eastern pa so we have great smallmouth fishing. I also have access to about 40 acres of private land with good whitetail hunting and alot of land in York county which holds alot of deer. If there are any kids of need in this area don' t hesitate to contact me.

RE: Disabled and terminally ill kids
has ceberal palsy and is confined to a wheelchair but loves to go with dad hunting so we made a stand with a ramp just for him its great to see his smile . Undoubtedly, the ultimate measure of a society is at the quality of their character and in the way we treat our less fortunate members of our community. Through our history, American men and women have routinely sacrificed everything including their lives for principles and ideals. The highest standards and principles have always been an American tradition. I’m happy to say the American sportsman is also adhering to these high standards and principles!! During these trying times of international terrorism, school killings, rioting, molestation, drug dealing and murders; stories of genuine human compassion are a true breath of fresh air for the non-hunting public! Pictures of big rough men tenderly helping a dying little girl into her blind or out on to a boat will touch the hearts of many and rightly so! So indeed, that is what separates us humans from animals, in that we take care of our weakest individuals. Many of the affected families are financially strapped, and the addition of nutritious fish or game to a sparse dinner table is surely the right thing to do. We will do all we can to promote and establish a thriving community of compassionate sportsmen in the state of Indiana. We have children looking to get their wish granted and taxidermist and landowners which are ready to come on board to provide this great outdoor experience. Additionally many concerned sportsmen are volunteering nationwide to be guides mentors and lifelong friends. EVERY ONE is welcome to join on board with U.S.S.A.! Deer, elk, bear, hogs, turkey, ducks, geese, pheasants, any type of fish, squirrels and coons all have a child waiting to get after them, and the sky is the limit as far as we are concerned. Heathen animal activist groups that worship and venerate animals are also intent on destroying these special sportsmen’s dreams, and in many dream wish organizations have made significant headway. Let us all draw a line in the sand!! God bless you all! Brigid O’Donoghue, President Pete Normington, Vice President U.S.S.A. 7864 Shotwell Rd. RE: Disabled and terminally ill kids
Do you have info on fishing or hunting trips that are in Wisconsin or close to it? I would love to sign Tony up for your fishing trips but we can not afford much. Here is some info on my nephews:
Bundy Benefit To: From: Cindy Schlosser Date: 2004 Subject: Benefit for the Bundy Family On November 2nd, 2003 a 13 year old bow hunter (Tony) and his 11-year old brother (Joe) were injured when they were mistaken for wild turkey by a hunter. The two were hunting along a fence line near the town of Eau Galle while there father hunted from a nearby tree stand. The boys were shot once with a 12-gauge shotgun The boys were taken to Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand and flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Tony had multiple surgeries to remove shot from both eyes as well as other areas of his face, head and hands. Unfortunately, Tony is permanently blind in both eyes. He has also suffered from other health problems from this tragic accident. Joe had less serious injuries including shot in his upper lip, chest and arms. The Bundy family has endured great heartache and will suffer from financial hardship for years to come. Therefore, we will be having a benefit to help the Bundy family in there time of need. The event will be held on Saturday, May 1st at the Durand Rod and Gun Club, located on STH 25 between Durand and Menomonie, WI.. The benefit will be an all day event, starting at noon, including a meal, raffles, silent auction, dart tournament, and a band, TSG, to follow in the evening. I would like to invite everyone to the benefit. We are asking you to please donate cash and/or prizes to help us make the benefit a great success. Your donations are greatly appreciated! Please make checks payable to: Bundy Benefit You may contact me in the following ways: Aunt Cindy Schlosser E2454 County Road X Menomonie, WI 54751 phone: 715-664-8841 e-mail: [email protected] Thank you in advance for your generosity! To confirm the accident you can go to the following newspapers & search for Eau Galle Wisconsin Outdoor News (Archive Search : Nov. 21st, 2003) Dunn County News ( Nov. 2003 & Feb. 2004) Sincerely, Cindy Schlosser |

I'd like to donate my taxidermy services. Just send me a email and we could go over the details on getting it to me. I'll take care of the rest, even shipping it back.
So if you know any kids that are going on a hunt or a fishing trip, just let me know. I have a account with UPS and FedEx so shipping can be put on my account. >>feathers-> |
RE: Disabled and terminally ill kids
My own son is NOT disabled, the proof lies in the fact that he just deleted a TON of writing on this reply LMAO! Anyway, i wanted to say that it makes the ol' heart flutter a bit when I see y'all wanting to help so much. If only I had more area to hunt and fish around here (I live near the Twin Cities in MN) I('d love to offer my services. A big toast to all of you, especially the taxidermist offering his services to give these kids an opportunity to hang that "Dream come true" on their wall. I wish there was something I could do to help. Hell, y'all ought to get in touch with Buckmasters... they have a HELLUVA disabled hunters (kids AND adults) program, they may be able to give you a boost. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help in MN. I can be reached at: [email protected]

RE: Disabled and terminally ill kids
Danthehunter, I too have a son with ceberal palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. He is only 4 so a little young to take hunting but plan to take him when he is older, if he wants to go. He loves being outside so I am hopeful he will want to go along. I am curious as to what the stand looks like with the wheel chair ramp could you send be some pics? My email address is [email protected]. I hunt on private property so I could build on site. I am assuming it isn't very portable. Do you use a motorised or a manual wheel chair when hunting. I was thinking the motorized ones would be to heavy but was curious.
Good luck with the upcoming hunting season. |
