Hey guys,

Thanks for thinking that I am worthy of being on the team (From Lance's recommendation). This is my first post and wanted to say that I will be spending a lot of time in the tree stand this year. Also, was wondering why there isn't more chatter in this thread on how the team is doing. During opening weekend I did not see any big bucks but I was able to whack a doe. She was a confidence booster and food in the freezer.

This weekend Lance and I will be heading out to get one of the big bucks we saw last year. Well, that is if they walk past our tree stands.

Now lets hear some more chatter here on if you are going hunting, what you saw, and how you did. Unless, we are planning on being the sleeper team, you hear nothing from us except the big bucks we kill.

Well it's about time you found your way onto the board. Glad to have you on our team, despite what Lance says about you.

This weekend I'll be busy releasing and then subsequently cleaning pheasants for most of my weekend, so I'm not sure how much time I'm going to get in my stand. Not that it matters though, one of my stands has become a hotspot for the local four-wheelers to hang out, and some awesome person stole the treesteps out of my other stand.

I'm cursed I say! CURSED!

and I blame Michael Willand.

Welcome Ritz, glad to have you on our team..despite the negative response from Justin and Lance.

Yes, it is true Justin has had a bad run of luck for what seems to be two seasons now. However this is not due to I. Justin can just sell his soul to satan for next to nothing.

satan is not a really bad guy, is he?

Welcome ritz!

I'd add your name to our logo... but uh... we don't have one. Not an official one anyhow.

I've only been out deer hunting twice. First time out I watched the landowner walk around and pick up walnuts the whole time. Second time out I saw a single young buck. (still, I think I'm doing better than Justin)

(BTW Justin, nowadays with creative financing, you can get a loan on your soul instead of having to sell it outright. I just recently re-financed my soul and kept an open line of credit on it. Pretty handy really...... and I was already doomed to hell anyways. heh heh heh...)

Hey look.. camtrakker photos!

Coyotes... (chasing off the deer no doubt)

The one-antlered deer that I'm saving for Todd.

Anybody got any big hunting plans this weekend or are you all going trick or treating?

I'm planning on going out and stealing Justin's treesteps... oh wait, that's already been done. heh heh heh

I have no news on the hunting scene to write about, but hey, like that's gonna stop me.

I seem to have contracted some 'Justin Cooties'. Yesterday afternoon I drove the 15 miles to my one hunting spot only to discover that the farmer was out harvesting the corn. (this wasn't entirely unexpected) Since my stand is pretty much in the middle of the corn field, I drove off to my other hunting spot.

Along the way, the duct tape that was my vent window blew away. The wind was refreshing for about 30 seconds... then it became annoying. I finally get to my other spot and see that a portion of the soybeans have just been cut. I don't see any active machinery so go over to my climber next to the bean field and climb up the tree.
As I pull my bow up, the rope breaks and my bow crashes back to the ground. Grrrrr.. I climb back down and inspect the bow. Seems okay (the benefit of shooting really old, basic equipment.. if it's lasted this long.. it's probably pretty hard to destroy) Off in the distance I hear a combine fire up. I give up on that stand location and walk over to my other stand. The wind is really wrong.. but I'm desperate now.

It's 4:15pm by time I'm settled into the other stand. Nothing shows up except for three very tempting (and out-of-season) raccoons which waddle by at 15 yards.

On my walk out I discover that my trail camera is not functioning. At the van I set down my pack, put my bow in it's case and take off my clothes (not all of them). I hop in, turn the van around and see that I've come within inches of running over my pack which contains my phone, camera and range finder.

A mile down the road I pass a Durango on the side of the road with half it's front end damaged and a dead deer lying off in the ditch. That poor guy must have gotten a full blown case of Justin Cooties.

Well did you stop and see if it was a buck or doe that was hit? You could've gotten a good rack out of it!

My plans for this weekend are as of yet undetermined, but I am bankin on PM hunts both Sat and Sun, and maybe an AM hunt depending on what my hunt club schedule winds up looking like.

And hey - I got a deer this year, which is more than I can say for you.

I looked (who doesn't scope out the roadkill? ) but I didn't see any antlers.

I've been know to scrape up a roadkill now and then. (at one time, I even put a winch in the bed of my truck so loading them would be easier... how's that for dedicated?)
Me and roadkill...

Hey, that reminds me.. if I get a deer this weekend, I'll probably need help dragging and loading.... what's your cell # again?? hee hee hee.....

I'm sure you have Todd's cell - call him. He's closer and has a bigger truck.
