My wife always laughs when I practice indoors. I can shoot about 20 yards in the basement. If I open the garage door (faces the woods) I can shoot out to 35. ;)

Blah, Ivan dumped just over 6" of rain on us yesterday. Thankfully we live on higher ground. However many of the local streets are shut down because of damage.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I've been out 3 times so far as time is limited..

First day out a couple of small 4x4's and does was all that came out :( It rained the whole time, and with 2 hours left in the day it began to hail then snow!! It was a bit windy also, so I think the deer bushed it for a bit

2nd time out: Bad day all around as just does and fawns came within bow range, with a nice 5x5 about 100 yards out...he'll come by again :) One of my hunting buds did down his first deer with his bow a few clicks away...a nice sized WT Doe. He was pretty happy as it dropped about 40 yards from his stand.

3rd time out was a try at some Elk...no Elk, but a nice 5x4 mulie almost was downed...spotted us at 50 Yards and walked away and into the bush. We were going to try and stalk him but we only had about 5 minutes of legal light left. The walk out yielded about 30 WT's chowing down on some alfalfa...a new stand site as we'll throw one up there this week :) (3 shooters were in the bunch...one should push about 170, real tall and way past his ears...but light was really limited as we seen them on the walk out)

I think I'll use some sick days near the end of the week and sit in a couple of stands for WT. Heading up to Northern AB in 2 weeks for a Mulie/Moose/Elk trip...Another hunting bud just got back from a 2 day hunt where we are heading, although the weather was bad he seen about 30 Bull Moose, one Gagger Mulie and a few shooter WT's...looking forward to that!! He came back with a nice Black Bear also.

All the best
D

Oct. 2nd seems so far away. :(

It's tough sitting here reading about everyone already hunting while I have to wait! :) On the positive side I've had alot of time for scouting and practice.

RE: Official Team "Rut n Rub" (15) Thread

Hi Guys, just checkin in. Oct. 1 seems like an eternity away. On the upside, I do have a buck coming in my back yard that is likely P&Y. I've got 2-3 that would make it in my hunting areas, including my yard. This has been one of the better years for seeing large bucks in my area so I'm optomistic. Anyway, hopefully someone will put us on the board here soon. We don't wanna get too far behind these other teams. I realize most seasons haven't started though. Good luck and safe hunting. I'll check back soon.

Guys, per the request from the admins I'll be making changes to the banner. I'm not sure if I'll just resize our current one or come up with something different. Right now ours is about 2x bigger than what we're now allowed to have.

bowhuntr09 09-22-2004 07:11 PM

RE: Official Team "Rut n Rub" (15) Thread

Here is a test of the current one resized to 300x75. Way to small to read.....

Good luck bobcat 10 hope you kill one.

I cant hardly take it any more its time to hunt been seeing a big 10 point coming out of an abandon farm lot right across from the house last four nights at 7pm. he will go better than 160 I think.

Iam not getting my hopes up Ive seen this before this time of year he proubly will tease me a little more then just disapear right before season opens [:@]at least I know hes in the area.

Well if I dont get back before the first may you all kill bigger deer then I .

Good luck Guys!!!!

One week to go here in PA. :D

Early forcast is a high of 70 with a 30% chance of showers. I'm sure that'll change by next week though.
