Fellas,

Okay, got out Sunday morning and evening. Sunday morning, had many deer again and the big 8 strolled to within 50 yards of my stand never offering a shot. So, I tried to get in place in the evening to catch him leaving farm, but it was so hot, every deer that came within 40 yards got really nervous. After having two smaller bucks wind me, I decided it best to vamoose and not risk having Big 8 learn any valuable lessons. Anyhow, temp were in the 80s again today, so didn't risk it again.

This early season in KY is difficult. It's too hot and your sweating so much, you have to play the wind perfectly. So, next weekend temps are suppose to be in the 50s in the morning, so I'll let the farm settle down for the week and see what happens.

I know what ya mean about the warm temps,I sure hope it cools off a little here as well.Nothing worse then trying to hunt for a deer, specific deer at that and sweating so much they can smell your odour a mile away
I do agree with ya about leaving the big 8 alone for about a week and see what happens with the temp,we dont want to educate him do we
Take your time bud,do everything right and he will offer a shot when the time is right, lots of season left and the best is yet to come.Good luck with him or any other
As of october 1st I will be spending the weekend in my stand and hope one of the big lads offers me a oppertunity, and if I do my part there will be some high scoring points for usI have a few other spots as well but dont want to burn these areas out early in the season,I'll wait till the rut is on in november If I havent taged out before then.
Again good luck guys and keep us posted
