Danny Miller is Great!
It all started when I came back from a hunt and needed to unload my crossbow. I placed a field point bolt on the bow and took aim at my target 25 yards away. When I pulled the trigger something happened that I did not expect. My knock broke on the bolt, the string jumped up and over the bolt and what happened was an accidental dry fire causing a several strands of both cables to break along with the sliding cable guide.
I took it to a local archery shop and they told me they did not have the replacement cables for that bow or the slide. I then contacted Excalibur an was told to get in contact with Danny Miller.
This was a rush job because I live in Idaho and this was the middle of the Elk rut (I am a disabled archer so I can use a crossbow in archery season.) Danny wanted me to ship it to him so he could tune it, but I needed it right away. He put together a new string, two new cables and a slide guide then shipped it to me next day air.
I then took the package to the local shop. It became apparent to me that Danny was right in telling me to ship the bow to him so he could tune it. The first practice shot broke the slide and one strand of one of the cables.
I looked at the cable and figured I could get one good shot out of it and went hunting. I ended up killing a 6x7 bull elk the next morning. I then contacted Danny and told him what happened. He had me take the bow of the stock and ship it to him. After repairing the bow he shipped it back with instructions on how to put it back together.
After seeing Danny's instructions, I think I know what could have happened when the local shop put the crossbow back together. Danny told me to make sure which end of the cable guide was forward and to make sure the guides cross on the left side.
I am thinking they did one of those things incorrectly causing the cable to ware.
The bow now shoots perfect and is ready for next elk bow season.
What is great, Danny didn't even charge me the second time I sent it to him. If you need something done on your crossbow, send it to Danny!
