I honestly don't believe some of these prices (most of them!) that I am seeing on crossbows these days! Not like they have as much limb length and such as a full size bow like a Matthew's Creed for God's sake!

$600-$2,000 for a crossbow? Are you KIDDING me? A guy could buy a Weatherby back-in-the-day for less or even NOW - a brand new Savage 110XP or 111XP or a Remington 700 for less than that! WTH?

just bought a Barnett jackal package due to broken shoulder now I never shot a $1000 crossbow but this thing is deadly accurate and I have total confidence out to 40 maybe 50 on relaxed deer for atotal out of pocket $250

A friend just bought an Excalliber Matrix 405. He says he loves it so far. However, the cocking weight is 290??? Wow!! I told him he wasn't getting any younger. That is way too much for me I know. And for a lot of older guys!

Oh yeah, he paid $1300 + for it. Lot of money, but hope it works for him. I think for that money it should field dress the animal for you!

Tenpoint is a very reliable and safe xbow but still not worth $2,000.
Matrix Mega 405 Crossbows has a recall . Tell your friend be safe call Excalibur.

dont forget to keep an eye out for used bows. Last year i got a honey of a deal, guy was selling an excalibur exomag...said it had hardly been shot and i believe him, bow looked like brand new. I ended up getting the bow, scope, brand new block target, arrows and the cocking device (the kind that fits on the stock and you crank) for 350. I promptly picked up a regular pull type cocking rope and sold the crank on ebay for 150 lol. This bow is dead accurate and it hits like a brick.

Last year I bought a Carbon Express SLS for $550.00 and it kills deer just as dead as a $2800 10 point. Shot 3 of them over 50 yds. Sometime its more important who is behind the bow not the name on the bow. Just my 2cents.

I also am a carbon express fan. For all the reasons you mentioned and the fact that I have taken many critters with it.

I also have been shocked at the new Xbow prices. I bought my first horton about ten years ago and paid less than $400. As I remember that was a pretty decent bow at the time. It still works good today. I have moved on to recurve and compound hunting mostly but I still pull the horton out for practice and take it out hunting a few times each year as well.

What is with the out of galaxy prices??? I understand they are a very reputable company, but those prices are stupidly high. Who the hell is going to pay $2800 for a crossbow???

Uh rich guys with small pencils lol

Sticker shock?? Crossbows... apples to oranges? In my mind prices for quality x-bows remind me of my trip to look at a new truck. In 99' I paid $29K for my truck, outfitting one similar today, $47K. ?????

Find the guy looking to sell his old excal for the new excal and for under $500 you have the worlds best xbow with customer service second to none. Period.
