Default Strykeforce crossbow

Hi everyone...new to this forum and to hunting for that matter. I have a question I just purchased a used strykeforce crossbow for a 100 bucks and am having trouble cocking the thing. there was no place to test it out and they say not to dry fire it so ......anyway i can get it pulled up about half way and damn !!! that"s it. how much force is needed to cock these things and is there a easier way to cock it. ? any help would be appreciated. thanks again.

Use a rope cocker. Cocking by hand is foolish as you don;t get pull the string back evenly straight and takes way too much strain
