I started using a helical fletch when I built my first crossbow for the mail compititionin about 1974, and I have had a 10 point ,a Excaliber Exocet, and a Parker Tornado and they all shot best for me with a helical fletch especally with broadheads, and yet I have never seen anyone esle using a helical fletch and wonder why.

Likely because most crossbow arrows are commercially made and purchase already assembled. The arrow makers tend to use 4" vanes which are not that compatible with helical application. It's largely us crossbow loonies that keep doing different, new and improved things: high FOC, short vanes, helical application. E.g. I had self-made string stoppers on my bows a full year and a half before Parker and Excal even had them available for sale; used custom made aluminum moon nocks half yr before Gold Tip came out with theirs.

My GT's have a 2 degee offset. I wish they I had the blazer vanes, but they came with 4" VaneTecs. However, they are extremely accurate and are real tack drivers having that high FOC, so I'm not complaining. Hell, I was shooting 4" groups @ 50yrds even with a slight crosswind. Couldn't be more happy. Man, I am SOOOOO glad I switched to the GT Lazer II.s with the brass inserts and aluminum nocks. The grouping of shots 30yrds & over and the increased accuracy is really surprising when compared to some of the "off the shelf arrows". I see now they sell the GT's off the shelf. But the have 5" straight fletched vanes and plastic nocks I believe. Although they do have the brass inserts.
