Default Finallly got one

bought me a parker enforcer about a month ago. have hunted with it the last three weekends. i missed one the first and second weekend, but this morning it all went my way. at nearly seventy and a pretty severe heart attack six months ago i thought my hunting days were over. my doctor advised against climbing and breaking my 55# compound over. a friend suggested a cross bow and i am so glad he did. you still have to get pretty close and being on the ground only adds to the challenge. this deer fed down a ridge towards me and stopped at about thirty yards when she went on alert, stomping a hoof and straining that neck at me. i sat super still and finally she gave up and walked broadside behind a tree which gave me a chance to get ready. had my scope on her when she came out the other side. i let her get clear of some little shurbs and whistled. she stopped and i let it go. sounded like a ax hitting solid oak. she wheeled and off she went at a brisk pace. i thought the arrow did a past thru because it was right behind where she was standing. come to find out when she turned it broke off. i found her about sixty yards down that ridge. the arrow had gone in one side and somehow ended up in a hind quarter and it really messed it up good. i think i hit it a little to far back. those slick tricks are the real deal. even tho primative gun season opens tomorrow here i am going to continue hunting with my parker. and thanks to dave a wyvern for setting me up with everything. jj

this is the way i found her. looks like she just sat down and expired.

Congratulations! Anything with a bow is a trophy!
reDavid, it's nice to have a retailer who really knows what he is selling isn't it?

Congratulations on that fine doe. My first with a Crossbow ....and my first deer ever was a doe. I still get "buck fever" when they come in range.
