If I were going to buy a recurve it would be another Excalibur. I own a Vortex and its badazz. I owned a Horton Team Realtree HD175 before the Excal. It was a good & accurate CB but heavy. Also had to have bowpress to let it down. I could see that unless I bought a bowpress the bow was going to be expensive to maintain. I was burning up servings on it too. I don't think anyone could go wrong with an Excal if they were content with a recurve. It is a little wider limb to limb, but they are light, insanely accurate with the right arrow / head combo. And basically a no hassle warranty. Heck they even replaced my stringer free of charge cause I noticed a crack in one of the plastic pieces. I believe it may have gotten run over somehow. I even told them that was a possibilty because I could not figure how it would crack like that. They said don't worry, send it in. And I had a new stringer 5 days later. Now thats some good customer service. They really do take care of their customers like others have stated on here. Its actually kind of a shock not to have to wrangle over something. They just say. no problem, we'll fix you right up!! A1 in my book.
